Study in Germany (Munich)

Munich is the most livable city in the world

Munich was ranked the most livable city in the world by the Mercer Study 2018. It is extremely popular with expats and international students who come to the city for its friendliness, high standard of living, nightlife, quirky culture, exquisite history and top-notch public transport system. Munich is the second largest city in Germany with around 1.5 million inhabitants. It is very popular with expats, with more than a third of all city residents born outside of Germany.

Munich has a large student population. There are more than 180,000 students in total. The largest university is the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU), often considered the best university in Germany. Munich is also home to some of the best museums and galleries in Germany. This includes the Deutsches Museum, the world's largest science and technology museum, and the BMW Museum. The city is also home to the Alte Pinakothek art museum, one of the oldest in the world and home to an important collection of works by the old masters.

Studying and Working in Munich

As the beating heart of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, more and more foreign students are choosing Munich as a place to study, live and work. With a wide range of universities including colleges and arts colleges, there is a vibrant student culture across the city. The standard of living in Munich is high, resulting in an above-average cost of living, but is still comparable to much of Germany for students taking advantage of student housing prices and student discounts.

A famous beer culture and the Oktoberfest are both predictable reasons why students make Munich their home. It is also flourishing culturally: a place where tradition and modernity coexist. In Munich, modern art and youth music blend with traditional architecture and art galleries. Munich also offers a vibrant nightlife that includes everything from traditional beer halls and beer gardens to world-famous nightclubs like Harry Klein.

Munich has to be your destination if you are looking forward to a fun-filled student and work life.
